About Me

I am a psychotherapist with an interest in experiential process and authenticity. This means that we will explore your own experiences, help you to make sense of these, understand them and become aware of how these influence your life.

I will accept your experiences as your truth without judgement or criticism. This doesn't mean I just sit and agree with you. I offer alternative perspectives and will encourage you to think about whether your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are helpful or unhelpful for you.

This might include recent experiences or it may be aspects of your past. You are always in control however and what you choose to bring into the therapy room is for you to decide.

Put simply, I create an environment where you gain increased self-awareness and improve your ability to make different and more helpful choices. The overall aim is to support you to live a more psychologically healthy and happy life.

I believe that all those who work in the field of Mental Health and self-development should be appropriately trained, qualified and supervised. My ethical practice is supported by:

• A Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.
• An ILM level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.
• I am an Accredited practitioner with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their code of conduct and ethics.
• I have experience working within the NHS, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector.
• I have monthly Clinical supervision of my practice.
• I attend regular CPD events.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I am a qualified and experienced developmental coach offering an alternative approach to exploring personal and professional change which is helpful for those wanting to focus on the future and make positive lasting changes to life and work.
